Twitter is perhaps the easiest of the social media internet marketing sites to work with. And, it’s free! It is very straightforward with its economical message size used for updates, and its simple interface; but it is also very powerful in that you can link individual tweets in your Twitter marketing efforts to your website. This ease-of-use is very attractive, and keeps Twitter very consistent user to user.
Unlike a Facebook business page, we can make your Twitter marketing page look exactly like your brand. Not only can I can add your logo design, but we can also change all the colors of the text, the sidebar, the links, and the background. I can also put custom images into the header or background.
Using Your Twitter Account for Digital Marketing
You will want to “tweet” as often as possible, or have your Denver internet marketing consultant tweet for you, and include updates about your business, with links to the individual pages or blog posts that relate to the Twitter updates. You can also follow others on Twitter who have an adjacent subject to your subject matter. Maybe this is a supplier, or potential supplier; or maybe it’s a potential customer that you want to follow so that they are aware that you exist.
Either way can be a very subtle way to let people know about you without being that pushy marketing person. And never forget, every time we do something like adding a new social network site and link it back to your main website, it helps your digital marketing presence.
How Often Should I Tweet on My Twitter Business Page?
As a digital marketing consultant, I am asked this over and over. The answer is “you should tweet every single time you have something interesting about your business that you want to announce to your followers”. Be very careful to only post meaningful things.
I am reminded of a client who, when I first told him about creating a Twitter account for his small business and that he needed to tweet what he was doing, (the original Twitter question that you answered in the update box was “What are you doing?”), he tweeted “I’m having lunch”.
I had to tell him that that was not really internet marketing, and that a more proper tweet would’ve been “I’m having lunch to discuss installation of solar panels on a commercial building” (his business).
What I Do, and What You Do With Twitter
At a minimum, I set up your Twitter account for you. All you need is an email address.
I train you in how to use Twitter as an internet marketing tool.
If you are utilizing my internet marketing services, writing content for blog entries for example, I write an SEO friendly tweet and connect the blog article, or web page to your Twitter account via a link back to your site.
I also have some tricks to find people who are tweeting about your industry so you can find them and either contact them directly, or immediately tweet something of your own that will be of interest to them, so that they may desire to call you. That is how you effectively use your Twitter account for your Denver internet marketing!
