What is Google Marketing?
Google marketing can take several forms:
A Business Listing
Local Results, including Maps
Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS)
Google Ads
Google Plus, social media platform.
It all starts with a Google account. If you don’t have one through Gmail or some other common Google tools, I can help you set up your account.
Google Local
According to Google, 97% of consumers search for local businesses online.
The first step for local businesses with Google is actually a listing that Google gives you for free!
I’ll help you get on this no-fee Google tool, which they call Google My Business.
Years ago, Google decided they needed to be able to differentiate local search results from nationwide search results because they only had so much available space on their pages to show website listings.
They created “Google Local”. Google probably did this to reflect the fact that each business is tied a local address.
They have since changed the name twice; first it was changed to Google Places, and now it is Google My Business.
These local search results show when people type a location along with their other keywords, for example: “Denver internet advertising” instead of just “internet advertising”.
They also show when a mobile search is made – they show the most local results to the user.
When a user clicks on the balloon or link in the listing results, your local page is displayed.
Optimizing For Google Marketing
Anybody can sign up for their account and begin their Google marketing, however, I highly recommend that you get the most out of your first step in Google marketing by having me optimize your My Business account.
Your page should have the written description that reflects the results you expect for keyword searches. Additionally, it should contain photos, videos, and special offers showing customers why it’s smart to choose you.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Google My Business cost?
Add a listing to Google My Business for free! Google doesn’t accept payment to include some types of listings or sites in search results.
What if I don’t have a store or office?
Every business listing must include a mailing address. For those who work from home or a mobile business, you can sign up for a “service area” in the sign up process and hide your physical address.
Can I add multiple business locations?
Only one listing is allowed per physical location. If you cover multiple areas, we need to instead use the description of your business and categories to show the different services for your business.
