Denver WordPress Design Firm
Denver WordPress design by Jon Camrud. I utilize WordPress platform in my SEO website designs. High rankings of your website is easier to achieve using a WordPress site, which increases functionality with pre-made functionality plugins and saves you money on development.
A framework, such as WordPress, allows for added functionality, while working hand in hand with the design, which is overlaid on top of the framework. It is often referred to as the “theme”. I can use a pre-designed theme, and customize it to your needs, or do more extensive work to make a custom theme.
With a WordPress design content management system (CMS) you get these benefits:
1. Make your own website content changes and updates
WordPress sites have an administrative area, called a Dashboard, that allows an administrator with basic computer skills to login and make changes on the pages such as changing the wording of a current event page for maintenance purposes.
2. Posting / Blogging
Posts are similar to web pages but they are different in that they are part of a chronological streaming system. Posts are categorized and can be “tagged” for quick grouping with other posts of the same subject. Traditionally people call a “post” a “blog entry” but the system allows for posts to be used for traditional blogging or for categorization of items such as current news, frequently asked questions, or anything that requires organization and separation into categories.
3. Show and automatically manage current posts on the home page
As your experienced Denver WordPress designer I can set the site up so that posts in different categories are displayed on the home page. For example: a certain number of current news items can be shown on the homepage along with a photograph.
When a newer post is entered, older posts will be automatically pushed to the archives so people can still read past news.
I can also make the homepage a ‘static page’ and put the posts in a blog page within the site.
4. Social media marketing / networking
A WordPress design allows for integration of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other such social media marketing.
Social media on your WordPress site is a two way street. Your news can be posted to your Facebook or Twitter page, or your Tweets can be shown on your home page (or all pages).
We also allow viewers of your website to share your content via their own social media accounts, and keep count of the number of times a user “likes” your page, or tweets about it. We can have a tweet include a link back to the site without the user having to enter it.
5. My WordPress designs are search engine ready
State of the art code and smart design architecture make it easy for search engines to see what is on your WordPress pages. With automatic updates to the framework, you never have to think about it. Your site code will always be up to date.
In the search engine optimization (SEO) process, I actively enhance the site, and blog, with SEO information specific to your site you can achieve even better search engine placement results.
6. Faster design changes
The way your site design can be updated while all of the SEO benefits and the core functionality remain untouched. That means that changing the look of your site is controlled in one area, and design changes spread to all pages within the Content Management System.
You can change the look of your site every year if you want to, and you’ll never hurt your search engine rankings because the design is kept completely separate from the core code.
7. Update your site’s WordPress Version instantly
Sites that are not kept-up can be hacked. Most blog owners don’t update because it can feel pretty complicated when using other platforms. Even some WordPress designers and programmers have spent hours or days fixing a problem created by updating to the latest version of their software.
I offer a yearly plan for updates, so you don’t need to worry about it.
8. Tablet and Smartphone friendly
I was an early adopter of the Google preferred method of having one website that shows well on all devices. It is called Responsive Website Design. The site is coded to allow individual devices to read the code to determine how to best show the site to the user on their particular sized screen. This is included in every WordPress design I do.
9. Customizing your site architecture is easier
Because WordPress features are standardized, it makes it cost effective for me to set up your site exactly the way you want it. And if you change your mind later, I’m just a few clicks away from creating new sections and functions for you.
“Widgets” are self-contained code modules that provide a quick and easy way to add powerful functionality to your site. Many “widgets” are built-in to add functionality to sidebars, footers, and the home page for this purpose. They allow social media sharing buttons, e-news subscribing, search boxes, and much more, without writing code.
Want to change the categories you display on the sidebar? Adjust the number of posts you show on your home page? No complete rebuild is necessary.
You can choose from six layouts for each one of your individual pages.
10. Comments from users
Allowing comments from users on your blog articles is a great way to build engagement and loyalty with your readers — if you choose to use it. But you can also disable comments. If you use comments, you will want to subscribe to a spam protection service. There is a small yearly subscription cost for the top rated services.
11. Cost effective to add functionality
Additional functionality can be added for a fraction of custom programming costs by choosing from thousands of “plugins”. These plugins are developed independently by WordPress designers to work within the framework.
They include such things as forums, slideshows, interactive forms, added security, payment systems as complex as full shopping carts, etc. The developers make them available to the public in return for contributions. Typically, I give a small donation of $10 per plugin that I use. Most of my Denver WordPress design sites have 5 to 7 plugins.
12. Auto-sized featured images
Draw attention to your blog entries, news and articles with an image… nothing sparks interest better than using great images. Thumbnails are simple to add to WordPress and a “featured image” capability allows that image to be shown on any page that references the page or post – such as the homepage. You don’t need to mess with sizing thumbnails, it is done automagically based on choices presented when adding a large image.
13. Ready for advertising
I can help you show online advertising easily. Just insert advertising code, like Google Adsense, or any others, into a sidebar, header, or footer widget. I can also add sponsor logos within the pages or sidebars, if you have an advertiser sponsored site.
