Biography of Jon Camrud
Camrud Design is owned and operated as a hands-on project by Jon Camrud.
I have always been creative and when faced with earning a living, I decided on Architecture! After earning degrees in Business, Environmental Design, and a Bachelor of Architecture at North Dakota State University, I relocated to Colorado, to work with the Denver Technological Center Executive Offices (DTC), performing architectural reviews and working in the marketing department.
Using a newer computer called a MacIntosh, I quickly became fascinated with computer illustration, learning all the available graphics software in a short time (there wasn't much out at that time). I was picking up jobs on the side as early as 1993.
Desiring more creative work, I left DTC in 1995 to create graphics full-time with my own business, Camrud Design Art & Graphics. My first specialties were logos and hand painted architectural renderings. This soon expanded into brochures, full branding, and postcards.
Around the year 2000, I added websites to my list of services. As an off-shoot of working with pixel oriented graphics used online, I came to really enjoy working with Adobe Photoshop and started working with editing photography more and more. I was incorporating photography into all of my projects. Eventually I bought a digital camera and began my landscape and nature photography career.
In 2007, I realized the importance of search engine marketing in helping my clients to get noticed in the marketplace. I studied SEO (search engine optimization), read all about it, took seminars, experimented a lot, and in 2009 began offering it as a service as part of the business and incorporating it into every website I worked with.
Hand in hand with SEO came search engine marketing (SEM) and Pay Per Click (PPC) Management services. I find that my skill set and aptitude for organization, detail, and writing is a great fit for online marketing.
I love what I do and still enjoy experimenting with graphic software capabilities.
